Specialist Teachers

The Climb Project is home to a large number of highly skilled practitioners and teachers, which includes a SENDCo. Our excellent team work tirelessly to ensure all our pupils receive the best educational offer possible.

Sensory Support

The Climb Project staff team are trained to support pupils with sensory needs, sensory diet requirements or to use sensory support equipment like body sox, weighted blankets etc.

Zones of Regulation

We use the Zones of Regulation approach to support pupils to develop the ability to manage their own feelings and emotions more effectively. This allows pupils to better manage difficult behaviour or anxieties.

Autism Specialists

Our specialist staff team have a wealth of experience in supporting the inclusion of pupils with Autism and associated Social, Communication and interaction difficulties. Our team use strategies including Teacch, PECs & Makaton.

Occupational Therapy

The Climb Project works in partnership with our provider Occupational Therapist to assess pupil needs, develop sensory diets and support school based staff to implement appropriate support mechanisms.

Hydro-therapy

Our young people have the opportunity to attend either weekly swimming or hydro-therapy sessions dependant upon pupil needs and desired outcomes.

Team Teach

Our specialist team includes two Team Teach Tutors, who are able to support pupils that display complex, challenging behavioural needs. Our tutors also deliver Team Teach Training to other schools and service providers.

Parental Support

Our entire staff team believes in the importance of strong parental links and working in partnership with parents / carers. Our door is always open to support families and we are proud of the excellent relationships that we have with our families.

Speech & Language

The Climb Project works closely with our Speech & Language therapists to ensure that accurate and achievable targets are set for our pupils. We also have a Speech Therapy assistant, who can carry our interventions and support our staff to deliver S & L interventions.

We’d love to hear from you!
